Antimicrobial effect of marigold leaves extracts on periodontal pathogens: Invitro study

Aim and objective: The aim objective of this study was to assess the efficacy Calendula officinalis (Linn.) with commercially available chlorhexidine gel tetracycline fibers against plaque bacteria so that it can eventually be incorporated into periodontal anti-infective therapy. Materials method: Plant extract made by 10 grams Preparation plant dried ground leaves were mixed 100ml methanol ethanol used for extraction. Periodontal ab plus Hexi used. Antibacterial activity sample seen using agar well diffusion method. Results: Minimum Inhibitory Concentration at 0.1g/mL 15mm, 18mm 33mm. showed 51 percent more zone inhibition than C. extracts 42 gel. Conclusion: results present indicate possessed good antimicrobial potential. This exhibited significant antibacterial effect but less on bacteria.
